III SOLIDARITY WALK “THE VALLEY OF HARANA WALKS AGAINST ALS”
An event of GREAT importance and very special for us.
As a socially committed organisation, we usually support different causes, but this disease has touched us very closely and our involvement is even greater…
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (#ALS) is a disease of the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement. Their function gradually decreases, causing muscle atrophy leading to paralysis. This disease, which diagnoses around 1,000 cases each year in Spain, is detected between the ages of 40 and 60 and has an average survival of between 3 and 5 years.
If we add to this the economic effort involved for the patients and their families, we can only sponsor this cause to give visibility to the reality that surrounds people with #ALS and their close environment and raise funds that serve for scientific research to help eradicate the disease.
So, on 1st of October we will put on our running shoes to enjoy this solidarity walk, an easy walk, suitable for all ages, which will start at 10.30 a.m. from Ullíbarri-Harana and will go through the Arana Valley.
In addition to the walk, various activities have been organised throughout the day to enjoy a solidarity party in good company and the money raised will go entirely to the ADELA Álava Association (a non-profit organisation) (more info)
