On these two days, the Basque Ecodesign Meeting was the main conference about ecodesign in Europe, with more than 60 speakers and more than 500 specialists in industrial design and environmental innovation of product in the sectors of machinery, electric-electronics, renewable energy, transport and mobility, packaging, chemistry, food, ICT, construction, furniture or education.
A&B Laboratorios presented its experience and results of excellence in one of the sessions in which the solutions in manufacture of the most advanced companies of the Basque Country were shared. Our commitment to ecodesign means an improvement of competitiveness and positioning for the future change that the market will make towards a more circular economy. An economy in which the materials of a product will not be disposed at the end of their life, but they will be again integrated in the productive circle as secondary raw materials.
“The contents of the BEM2017 have been aligned with the politics of the European Union in matters of circular economy and based on ecodesign, remanufacture, recycling and environmental transparency towards consumers”, stated Iñaki Arriola, Minister of the Environment Department of the Basque Government. In this sense, Arriola said that “Europe has published a work plan 2019 of the new ecodesign directive that includes clearly the criteria of durability of the product, addressing, amongst other issues, the planned obsolescence”.
